Da "K" Spot: Anniversary Dinner

Thank you all for coming out last minute and celebrating our 5th Anniversary with us via an over priced meal at of my favorite family style restaurants "Maggianos". We never had a wedding and no one had the opportunity to see us officiate our vows, besides Garrett so we thought maybe a "super mini-reception" could suffice until we decided to renew our vows on day in a grand "shindig" - maybe another 5 years!

We surely had a blast and I have had several calls (again I apologize for the delay with the post - but I'm sure you guys just want the pics). The atmosphere was wonderful and it felt great to be around such a balanced blend of family and friends both old and new who where there from the beginning and some who we had "picked up along the way" as Darryl and I navigate this "lovely" life of matrimony! LOL

The food was excellent, BTW and there was no stereotypical confusion over the bill at the end of the evening either, Thank Goodness. I really didn't wanna spend my "special day" giving people the evil eye because they weren't paying their gratuity; but it didn't happen. We actually had a surplus considered it a combined anniversary gift of all who attended since no one bothered to bring us anything...sheesh, some folks! LMBO

Between Darryl and I, since the anniversary is so close to Christmas and we tend to splurge on our "Little Believers" we had put a $10 per year cap on our gifts. It makes shopping fun and makes the gifts genuine and from the heart; its amazing how much we like our stuff too. Plus I must admit I get lots of "goodies" sporadically so the simple things always pacify me quite well.

I headed directly to FedEx Field and purchased Darryl a Redskins knit hat and scarf that he could wear with his dress coat. He loves to "rep" his team here in Louisiana. I also bought him a "#1 Husband" key chain and told him that even if I replaced him technically he'd still be "Husband #1" so it's a win/win; that put me right at my budget. That shop is expensive! However, I saw Redskins stackable Tupperware and had to buy it because I pack his lunch for work daily and he's forever loosing mine! Now I send his lunch in old Country Crock butter containers or takeaway boxes - and that's sad I know...but surely he won't lose these. So I didn't include them as the gift. But gave it to him immediately following dinner and he confirmed my sentiments instantaneously

Darryl purchased me the ZumbaFit game for the Wii system. Now I have been asking for this for a long time, I love Zumba and take classes regularly. I was super excited when I got my gift...then I realized that I don't have a Wii! LOL Darryl won't allow any other gaming systems in the house besides PlayStation. So my happiness came back because I knew the "ban" was gonna be lifted and a Wii was in my future, possibly for Valentine's Day or a "just because" gift. But this is

Darryl could he possibly expect me to play my new game at a neighbor's house? :( Nonetheless I was excited. Then my favorite (and only) big brother told me I could have his Wii because although he had one he didn't use it because like Darryl, he only played PlayStation....what's up with PlayStation? So of course I got my Wii and two controllers!

I set it up as soon as I got home and personalized it for hours with my Weemee. No, I still haven't used it yet, I've been to Zumba though, sheesh look how long its taken me to blog! LOL

We had a great photo-op in the restaurant prior to leaving, you never know the next time such an opportunity will present itself.
