Deuces from Vegas Baby |
That's the new campaign for Las Vegas that accompanies the infamous "What Happens Here, Stays Here" slogan. Ebby and I had the pleasure of visiting the Las Vegas strip this past week and are just recovering from the shifts in time zone and sleep depravity - and heat; although it is hot here in Louisiana, it's not quite the unseasonable 99 degrees(according to their meteorologist) that we experienced on our first few days in Vegas, just mid-80's here in Creole Country.
So we spend a wonderful week in Vegas and enjoyed every minute of it and after a quick consensus of what could be shared (neither of us wanted to be reported i.e. #knowthecode ...lol) we've agreed upon the following:
- We took in 2 shows (1 traditional and 1 not so much) Cirque Du Soleil was great, if you have never saw one please check out a performance, their nation and worldwide!
- We walked like crazy on the strip and saw a bunch of "interesting" people (impersonators, cartoon characters, showgirls, and bunnies - not the ones you keep in cages...well I guess you could ;)
- We shopped and ate way to much - they seem to do everything in excess there and with no refrigerator/microwave in the room to encourage you to save, you buy more (good thinking on their part).
- We visited an Ice Bar (finally catching up with you Nicole, even though I'm sure being in Japan tops Vegas) - it was minus 5 degrees and everything was made of ice! Even the cups, you couldn't sit them down or they'd freeze to the table - which was also made of ice. It was like being inside of an igloo! Too cool!
- We saw the Fountains of the Bellagio which were choreographed to music every 15 minutes or so.
- We rode the roller coaster that's attached to the New York, NY hotel that gave me a headache and Ebby said jarred my brain for a couple hours because I was off! But I think I'm generally "off" LOL
- We tanned poolside and got tropical skin - my neighbor just asked me if I were wearing foundation/bronzer this morning - so I guess my sun-kissed look has reached its peak!
- We noticed that the South side of the strip was more updated that the north - we stayed at the Monte Carlo which was next door to the Aria. A really nice hotel complex with top of the line shopping and boutiques, you really don't need to leave the hotel if you don't wanna.
- We laughed at all the women who struggled in their heels, took theirs off to walk barefoot, or bought those little slippers and carried their shoes in their hands at night while we simply opted for flats - we figured this out day one; if your not catching a cab, wear flats.
- We walked through the casinos played the penny slots, went risky on the quarters - both got lucky and won like $75-100 and then got nervous and stopped! LOL
Check out some pics and a video of the water symphony @ the Bellagio...

Getting ready to ride the coaster...
Inside Coney Island, NY, NY hotel |
Dang, roller coaster gave me a headache! |
You had to enter the hotel to ride the roller coaster |
Walking the strip and sightseeing...we saw many more "artists" but most wanted a "donation" for a staged photo.
This turned out to be a long night and we had plans so I couldn't get all my pics...
Las Vegas at Night - So the following night or morning if you will, I woke Ebby up at 4am and had her come out with me to get these pics! LOL
